CJ’s long and varied career and training in customer relations has encouraged her curiosity about people and their different cultures. Casual conversation brings out philosophical sayings that resonate within society; one of which has changed CJ’s life because of the truth revealed in communal discussions at the Farm Store. “You are what you eat” is no longer a glib saying for CJ, it is now a way of life.
I was born in England in a town 2 hours south of London and moved to Canada at the age of 10 in 2004. Settling in the Cowichan Valley has been a huge blessing for me and I am very grateful for all the opportunities the valley has to offer.
In 2013 I was heading into a career in dance choreography in Vancouver but felt that I wasn't pursuing a life that was in alignment with my beliefs and how I envisioned my future to go. I chose to come back to the valley and put focus on the heartwarming things in life. To me that meant to be with my family, to be connected to nature, to be in a positive inspiring environment for work, and to find joy in all moments.
I also work as a birth and postpartum doula and breastfeeding counselor and have a soft spot for all the little munchkins that come through the door. I have a deep love for all the beings on earth and have been vegetarian/vegan for a combined 9 years and can answer any questions you may have.
My favourite moment of the day is being able to connect with people and the gift of learning from our wonderful customers. I was an avid shopper of the store in its previous location at the Duncan Garage and continue to fill my cart with the glorious goodies we have.
I am humbled to be a part of the farm store family.
