Tracy moved to Duncan from Vancouver, where she worked as an animator at the National Film Board of Canada. Since then, she has worked creating art, toys and greeting cards.
Currently, her warm and whimsical ceramic house lanterns can be purchased at CFS, next to Fiona's beeswax tealights! She also teaches animation and art to children of all ages, at home, at Shawinigan Lake School, and at the Waterfront Gallery in Ladysmith.
Tracy has been working at CFS for three years, and has been shopping there since the store lived in Glenora. She enjoys her colleagues, the atmosphere, and the philosophy of the store; she also enjoys going to work stocking shelves and looking at all the beautiful products and surroundings.
Meet Savanah; a Momma of two fierce, loving, bushwhacking and adventurous young girls. Passionate about clean eating, health and wellness seeking, capturing nature and life's moments through photography, embracing her green thumb, and finding joy in the little things.
Savanah was born and raised on this beautiful Island we call home. Her childhood was filled with great food, loving and open people and loads of adventure. Her and her family (2 older brothers, Mom and Dad) spent over 6 years living on a sail boat in various Island harbours before moving to dry land in Cobble Hill, where her Dad built a log cabin for the whole family to grow roots in. Fast forward 20 plus years and those roots continue to grow in the Cowichan valley while Savanah and her life partner, Matt, raise their two vibrant young girls, Anika and Sienna.
Life as a young family certainly has its busy and full on days, but that has yet to stop Savanah and Matt from committing to their values and ideals around kindness, open mindedness, healthy choices and nutritious, organic and whole food cooking at home. Having their girls only encourages them more to continue down such a conscious, clean and focused path. Over time actions become habits, and Savanah’s hope for her girls is for them to head off into the world knowing they are blessed and with the understanding that what you choose to put on your plate affects everything, from the land and sky, to your own body and mind.
Savanah enjoys learning and absorbing well rounded wellness wisdom from all types of sources, but her favourite ways of gaining more knowledge is through open and excited conversations with others and being in her garden. One can learn a lot about themselves and their ideals by spending time in a beautiful garden full of fruits and veggies and all the little critters that help make the magic happen.
Being out in nature is important to Savanah, whether it be hiking a mountain, strolling on a west coast beach, camping in the middle of nowhere or just sitting amongst the forest edge on her back patio. This is where peace and internal quiet can be found with ease.
In the years to come, Savanah hopes to have continued to darken her “green thumb”, to live an ever evolving mindful and conscious life, to see and experience beautiful cultures and things all around the globe, to continue to grow in life, learning and love. She hopes to have raised two confident, grateful, kind, capable and happy daughters and to have felt the feeling of doing GOOD in this world. Being at the Community Farm Store certainly supports Savanah and her family in these efforts and hopes to for many years yet to come.
