Once Upon a Day in Cowichan
Good music, creative arts, an inclusive and diverse community that thrives on fresh food and delights in the stunning scenery which is a daily four seasons backdrop to life in The Cowichan -- that is what inspired this short film
"A Day in Cowichan" at the CFS
A day in Cowichan on a sunny summer Saturday; Join Nicolette in her urban front yard farm on Cairnsmore Street and in the hallway of the Community Farm Store and The Duncan Garage Organic Cafe & Bakery. Many thanks to Nick Versteeg for gifting us with this wonderful bit of footage as part of his stunning "Day in Cowichan" docu-mentary; an opportunity to meet some of our farmers, our staff and our customers on screen; a chance for Nicolette to share her passion and gratitude for the community she serves.
As part of the filming of “A day in Cowichan” Nick Versteeg extracted the following footage to bring to the Food Inspirations Conference in Holland where hundreds of food and culinary enthusiasts joined together to share ideas and inspiration. It seems that Nicolette’s brief speech was a definite highlight of the conference and now, here it is for your own viewing pleasure. Those who know Nicolette will not be surprised by her passion for organic food and her conviction that each and every one of us can “be the change” by making conscious choices about what we eat and where we shop.
